Denholm urges government: Incentivise tech students to stay

Tesla and Technology Council of Australia chair Robyn Denholm has called on the Australian government to implement incentives for technology graduates to stay in Australia, amid the ongoing talent shortage.

With Prime Minister Scott Morrison expected to call the election this week, Ms Denholm, who was previously Telstra’s chief operating officer, told The Australian Financial Review 150,000 more people were needed to move into tech jobs in the next four years, but at the moment there were too many foreign students being trained in tech skills at local universities who go overseas rather than take on jobs in Australia.
